The SPFL Trust’s Annual Report for 2017 – 18, Trusted To Support, is now available to view.
The report looks at the financial year up to the end of May 2018 and all the incredible things that we have done.
Highlights start with our All Club Conference which was held back in April. We welcomed Executive Director of Everton in the Community, Phil Duffy to speak at the event.
The former Sports & Public Health Minister, Aileen Campbell who joined the line up of speakers, described the work we do as “inspirational”.
We recognise The Pars Foundation, from Dunfermline Athletic, and their Pars Tackle Health project which saw footballers go into schools around the Dunfermline and teach the kids about health and nutrition. This project was voted on by the other clubs in the SPFL and came out on top as the Community Project of the Year.
We draw attention to our amazing FFIT (Football Fans in Training) project, which has been one of our biggest success stories. Since 2011, an incredible 17114.61kg has been lost by the FFIT participants.
Festive Friends is another project which gets a special mention. In 2017, the total number of participants went up by 32% and we had more clubs than ever before take part.
In fact, we talk about nine brilliant projects for men and women, boys and girls, young and old across a variety of causes including mental health and nutrition.
In addition to this we signed two charters, increase our Twitter followers by 38%, gain 59% more likes on Facebook, achieve an unprecedented amount of press coverage….phew! It’s been a busy year.
