Chair hails importance of SPFL Trust trustees
Written By SPFL Trust Media Centre
Our chair, Bernadette Malone has hailed the importance of SPFL Trust trustees – and those across the country who give up their time to support important causes.
There are approximately 24,000 charities registered in Scotland and just over 180,000 trustees.
At the SPFL Trust, we work with community trusts and associated SPFL clubs across the country, helping them to deliver change that improves people’s lives.
Every day, we see football has an extraordinary capacity to engage and empower people to take a better path.
Bernadette said: “A trustee has a responsibility to help guide and balance their chosen charity. It is a role I’ve relished in the past and continue to as chair with SPFL Trust.
“Trustees’ are giving up their time and experience, in most cases because they believe in the work of their charity, but also because they want to give back through their own learned experiences.
“It is my role as chair to harness the fantastic skill-set our board of trustees’ have, and along with the CEO, bring the best out of what we have to offer. In my short time with SPFL Trust this has been assisted by the helpfulness and willingness of my fellow board members to help guide the work of the SPFL Trust.
“I’m keen to utilise the experience of our board of trustees’ and staff, to develop our relationships with partners, and to continue to expand on the fantastic work that our programmes deliver across Scotland.”
