Dundee Football Club, in association with Active Schools Dundee and The SPFL Trust began an initiative to give every primary 4 and 5 in the city an opportunity to play football for free.

The program was run by students from The University of Abertay in Dundee in order to give the school children a higher standard of football session. Each of the students underwent additional coaching training including the SFA children’s coaching awards up to level 1.3.

The Club delivered 4 weeks of free football lessons either after or during school time, covering four skill bases so that the players would not only have fun, but also learn some basic football skills. Every week taught a different skill lesson; covering dribbling, passing, shooting and control.

After the 4 week block of coaching, the Club delivered a football festival where all players were given the opportunity to participate in small sided games against the other schools participating.
