Football for All back for 2019-20

The SPFL Trust and Family Fund have again teamed up to offer families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people the opportunity to enjoy a dream day out at football matches in Scotland.
Nine SPFL clubs across the country have signed up to our Football for All programme for 2019-20.
In doing so they have agreed to provide access to tickets – and a memorable experience for eligible families.
In 2017-18, Family Fund helped 6,233 families with grants across Scotland. This meant that a wide range of thousands of essential items were awarded to families, including computers, tablets, kitchen appliances and much-needed family breaks.
Family Fund Partnership Development Manager Salena Begley MBE explains that for the families the charity works for, days out at the football are often beyond their means.
“I am delighted that SPFL Trust and the participating clubs are once again working in partnership with Family Fund to enable families of disabled children and young people to attend a live football match,” she said.
“Families raising disabled children face much higher everyday living costs, so often don’t have the same opportunities as others for things like days out.
“Parents tell us what a great experience going to the match can be for the whole family, especially when their child is going for the very first time, and we look forward to seeing Football for All go from strength to strength.”
SPFL Trust chief executive Nicky Reid expressed her delight that clubs across the league had once again agreed to support the project.
“We are delighted that after the success of our first year that the Football for All programme is to continue at nine clubs this season,” she said.
“Not every family is in a position where attending matches is possible, and so through a managed programme like this, we are able to identify those who would benefit from the opportunity of a special day out.
“I’m grateful to this year’s participating clubs, who represent all four divisions in the SPFL. They’re undoubtedly going to create some very special memories for the families that Family Fund support.”
Participating clubs are: Annan Athletic, Cove Rangers, Dundee, East Fife, Falkirk, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Partick Thistle, Queens Park, and St Mirren.
