Flagship FFIT programme returns
Written By SPFL Trust Media Centre
Over 20 clubs are accepting applications for their September FFIT programme.
Open to both men and women, FFIT provides football fans with an opportunity to become fitter, healthier, and happier at the same time.
The 13-week programme – which is funded by the Scottish Government – is now being delivered by clubs in the SPFL, Lowland League, and across the grassroots game, with other clubs expected to join soon.
An important part of the programme is the environment: it takes part within communities, at the grounds that fans love. With restrictions easing, we are now inviting participants to return to their grounds, where FFIT works best.
To mark the start of the 21-22 season, we have launched a new campaign, Get Back, which is centred around a series of powerful case studies from previous participants.
Interim Operations Manager, Fiona Taylor said: ‘’We are delighted that FFIT has returned for the 21-22 season, and that participants can now come together at their grounds.
‘’This brilliant programme drives real results, using the power of football and community to help people become fitter, healthier and happier.
‘’Over the last 18 months, it’s been hard to find time to put our physical health and mental wellbeing first. So, we are encouraging people to Get Back to the best they can be with the help of FFIT.’’
