Supporter to present the SPFL Trust Trophy
Written By SPFL Trust Media Centre
The SPFL Trust has today launched Give the Glory, to find one deserving supporter who will present the winning captain with the trophy at next month’s showpiece final between Raith Rovers and Queen of the South.
You read that right – yes, a supporter is going to present the SPFL Trust Trophy to the winning captain!
Nominations are now open (sorry, you can’t nominate yourself) for a fan who has gone the extra mile, supported their community, made a real difference to others, or perhaps gone through a tough time.
A panel from the SPFL Trust will then decide on a winner for each club.
That super supporter – and three of their friends or family – will be treated to a special day out at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie.
They’ll win:
- VIP hospitality for four people
- Behind the scenes pre-match tour
- Signed match-worn shirt
- Present the trophy to their team (if they win!)
- A collection of digital images from the day
We’ll also welcome a runner up for each club who will get all of the above, and the chance to present the official Player of the Match Award at full-time. They’ll also enjoy a day out in hospitality, too!
Our CEO Nicky Reid comments: “We were determined to create a community focused SPFL Trust Trophy Final 2022, and as such there’s no better way of demonstrating this by providing one deserving supporter the opportunity to create a memory that will last forever.
“Over the last two years, so many people have given so much in this pandemic fight, with clubs like Raith Rovers and Queen of the South playing their part in supporting the most vulnerable people in their communities.
“Therefore it feels absolutely right that someone who has done their bit enjoys what will be a truly special moment.”
Terms & conditions apply – you can read them here.
Additionally, for this promotion the nominated supporter must be happy to appear in photos and film (they will be presenting the cup after all). They must not be subject to any Football Banning Order (or club ban).
