Dunfermline Athletic used their funding to appoint a ‘Community Engagement Officer’ as part of the Pars Foundation charity organisation. This newly appointed position was responsible for raising funds for existing programmes as well as sourcing funds for new programme ideas. This person received a 12 month contract on appointment. As a result of this new post, The Pars Foundation has forged new links and partnerships with groups enabling them to assess the needs of the local community and advice on how best to tackle the needs/issues. As well as helping their newly planned programmes, they have also been able to increase the reach of their partners target audience due to the pull and media coverage that the football club has.
