BGT Finalist Joins Coatbridge Youth in Celebration
Britain’s Got Talent Entertainer Edward Reid and Comedian Gary Little attended a recent celebration event held at New College Lanarkshire making the achievements a group of young people taking part in new project run by Albion Rovers.
The Wee Rovers, New College Lanarkshire and The SPFL Trust teamed up to deliver an innovative college course to local young people.
The project uses the positive values associated with football to deliver a lifestyle coaching course to local youth, with employment being the ultimate goal.
The course centred on building confidence, consistency and those age old football tactics – playing to your strengths and working on areas that need improving.
This innovative and exciting partnership used the football ethos of respect to ensure that the participants were all aware of their individual skills and strengths, while identifying what their next step would be.
Albion Rovers FC Community Manager Patrick Rolink said, “The SPFL Trust has shown great vision and commitment to our local community, and the partnership with New College Lanarkshire ensures that there is a winning team representing football in our local community”
Mark Veldon, a participant on the 4 week long course said “I really enjoyed meeting new people, gaining confidence and having a laugh while doing so!”
After completing the course each member was provided with 2 free Albion Rovers season tickets to enjoy with the next half of the upcoming season in Clifdonhill!
