Club Coaches Get FFIT

Coaches from a variety of SPFL Clubs spent 2 days in Tynecastle learning how to coach Football Fans in Training Effectively
It has been a busy week for 14 of our community coaches who underwent training in preparation for our Football Fans in Training programme running in at 27 clubs this football season. Over a two day period, the community coaches – from a variety of SPFL clubs – learnt how to correctly organise, plan and structure the 12 week training programme.
In order to run FFIT, each coach is assessed in delivering sessions of the programme, blood pressure monitoring, taking height readings, waist measurements and not to mention those tricky scales! Other topics covered in the training are the values of nutrition and how to evaluate a person’s fitness levels.
This two day training was a great success. Each club representative passed their assessment with flying colours thanks to their enthusiastic, confident and positive manner when delivering.
The group were also lucky enough to hear from former FFIT participants Glenn Milne and Scott Thomson who were able to tell the Coaches first hand, of their time on FFIT and the huge differences it made to their lives.
